Bringing you closer to your your child - with alternative methods

Supported by TCM

Going back more than 2,500 years, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the oldest continuously documented medical system. It describes energetic processes within and outside of the body and follows patterns of signs and symptoms which the individual human shows under certain circumstances.

Chinese medicine offers various treatment approaches, for example:

  • Acupuncture
  • Herbal therapy
  • Qigong
  • Nutritional counselling

There are specific diseases for which TCM can achieve success. This also includes the treatment for reproductively challenged couples. The approach of TCM is more slowly and gently than that of Western medicine. It is beneficial to start the treatment in good time, in order to prepare your body and soul well and to optimise all processes. The treatment is started with a detailed initial TCM consultation so that an extensive TCM diagnosis can be established on the basis of all symptoms, the appearance of the tongue, pulse, skin, etc. This diagnosis is the precondition of the treatment

The strengths

The basis of TCM is constituted by a very individual diagnosisand close observation of signs and symptoms within and outside the body. This makes it possible to offer you your very personal and gentle treatment. TCM tries to stimulate the body’s own regulation mechanisms and balance disharmonies.

The Western and the Chinese approach are very different from each other, however, they can complement each other very well and can have a positive mutual effect. When treating fertility, TCM may for instance have an impact on the menstruation cycle, the egg and sperm quality, the uterine lining, and to the nidation of the eggs. It can be applied as an adjunctive therapy adding to the “Western-style” reproductive treatment, or also in an alternating fashion. The positive effect of acupuncture in terms of a higher pregnancy rate, before and after the embryo transfer, has been proven by scientific studies.

Dr. Ursula Ritz offers the TCM treatment at the Kinderwunsch Institut and will be pleased to answer your questions.
