Dr. med. univ. Michael Schenk, MAS

Managing Director, Medical Director, Head of Research and Development

E-Mail: m.schenk@kinderwunsch-institut.at

What is my area of responsibility at the KIWI IVF Clinic?
Alongside caring for you as Senior Consultant, my principal duties involve management of the Clinic and further developing our area of expertise by means of Research and Development.

Why do I like working at the KIWI IVF Clinic?
Because I created the KIWI IVF Clinic with my wife, Claudia, who is also joint Managing Director, from nothing. We have managed to find people for our team, with whom it is a joy to work on a daily basis. Every day, I feel the enthusiasm for our joint efforts, which strengthens me in my convictions and allows me to strengthen those of my members of staff when it comes to reorganizing, for instance, or pursuing innovative ideas for our patients in the Research Department.

What can I do to help you relax and become pregnant?
Together with my colleagues, we aim to free you of your doubts expressed in the question, “Why am I not becoming pregnant?” We collaborate with you to search for, even hunt for, likely and also rare, less likely causes, to illustrate to you how you can be helped to conceive successfully.

The plan that we then draw up is explained to you so sensitively and clearly that you will be able to decide for yourself on the course of action you wish to take. Since we offer all types of therapy at our Clinic, which we then implement subject to the highest standards, you are spared always having to adjust to new people and facilities. This, too, helps you to relax.

You can celebrate on your own. You do not need us for that. However, we do not leave you alone with your failures, and we ease each situation by providing counselling and companionship.

Claudia Schenk-Hauschka

Acting Managing Director, Commercial Manager and Human Resources Manager

E-Mail: claudia.schenk-hauschka@kinderwunsch-institut.at

What is my area of responsibility at the KIWI IVF Clinic?
From the outset, I have supported my husband in the role of Commercial Manager and Human Resources Manager.

Why do I like working at the KIWI IVF Clinic?
I co-founded the KIWI IVF Clinic with my husband in December 2000 because we had a vision that it is not always necessary for the desire to have children to remain unfulfilled, and we also wanted to remove the taboos surrounding this issue. I strive every day, with a great deal of pleasure and enthusiasm, to create the best possible conditions to help couples fulfil their wish in a warm, competent and friendly environment.

What can I do to help you relax and become pregnant?
I deal with the financial affairs of the Clinic, and with the concerns of the staff and consultants, with proficiency and enthusiasm, and in this way, contribute to creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere for you.

Martina Hörmann-Kröpfl, MSc, BMA

Deputy Head of the Laboratory for Clinical Embryology and Research

What is my area of responsibility at the KIWI IVF Clinic?
In my job as Head of the Laboratory for Clinical Embryology and Research, I devote my time to analysing and treating the cells and embryos carefully and with precision. Further to my work in the laboratory, my activities in the area of Research and Development enable me to apply myself to the latest scientific discoveries, and to work on further exciting ideas in the team. In addition, my wealth of experience enables me to teach and train young, dedicated embryologists.

Why do I like working at the KIWI IVF Clinic?
I have worked at the KIWI IVF Clinic since June 2001 and am happy to be a part of this harmonious team. Since its outstanding features are innovation and an open mind to all that is new, the KIWI IVF Clinic provides me with optimal opportunities for exciting daily activities, as well as in the field of Research and Development. It is also a lot of fun making the best possible use of my know-how in such fantastic conditions.

What can I do to help working at the KIWI IVF Clinic?
I am responsible for ensuring that your egg and semen cell fertilize each other outside the body. The embryos that are created are my protégés. My attention is concentrated on their changing needs, in order to make it possible for them to survive outside the female body. Using vast technological resources, it is possible to advance the further intense development of your embryos. Strict quality controls of each individual stage of the culture guarantee an unvaryingly high success rate. We are never content, which is why we systematically extend our scientific knowledge and welcome innovations.

The Institute as an Employer

Some call it job enrichment others employee branding. We call it appreciation.

The Kinderwunsch Institut is very proud of its team and supports each individual if they have the wish for advanced training. This is why extraordinary careers have developed in the past years. Here are two examples:

Ms. Eisner began working as a cleaner specialised on sterilization in the year of 2002. After her cooling period she passed the exam for ordination assistant and surgery assistant. Today Ms. Eisner is  a fully employed IVF assistant and cherrished part in the Kinderwunsch team.

Ms.Hörmann-Kröpfl in contrast started as a medical-technical assistant for the blood laboratory. After becoming a member of the IVF lab team after two years, her ambition spurred her to study clinical embryology. In 2012 she finished her studies at the Uni for Life with honor and is now “Master of Clinical Embryology”.
